Picture the scene if you will.  It is the first weekend in October and the day of the Annual Old Girls' Reunion Lunch has arrived.

BGS Girls is ready to receive the many wonderful women it has seen pass through its doors over the years.  The classrooms that run the length of the Roger Kay Hall are slowly beginning to fill with ladies from over 7 decades of BGS.  There is an air of nervous excitement as Reunion Group Leaders prepare for the arrival of their former classmates.  As more people are ushered through the doors, the audible buzz of chatter is punctuated at intervals by screams of sheer delight as old friends recognize one another and memories come flooding back. 

Incredible as it might seem to some, over 150 ladies return to BGS every year - often for the first time since leaving as a fifth or sixth former.  Why do they return?  The pull of the event is a simple one.  It is about meeting old friends, reminiscing over a multitude of shared experiences, and revisiting the school that played such a large part in their lives.  2009 saw a 35 year reunion of over 30 people and a 21 strong group celebrating their Golden Reunion in style with a champagne reception!  What a wonderful thing the Old Girls' Association is.  Far from being ‘stuffy' and out of touch, it is very much alive and kicking and, at its heart, you will find a strong sense of fun and camaraderie plus, of course, a love of all BGS.

If you have not yet retraced your steps back in time then we would certainly recommend adding it to your list of things to do.  It is truly amazing how the years melt away when you get together with old friends even when you haven't seen them for a decade.  Equally amazing are the many new additions to the school in recent years with the most impressive being the modern Kindergarten building with its many educational facilities for children and its rooftop playground.
