Boys' Parents Association
Bury Grammar School Parents' Association
All parents of boys both at the Junior and Senior School are automatically members of the Association and can attend meetings. With the exception of the Annual General Meeting they are held in the Junior School Staff room and are quite informal. They start at 8.00 p.m. and usually last about an hour. The AGM is held in the Junior School Hall and is a more formal meeting as required under the Constitution.
The role of the Association is to support the school and foster a spirit of friendship between staff and parents. We achieve this in a number of ways:-
Refreshments
We provide refreshments at parents' evenings, school plays and concerts.
Social Events
We organise social events: some are held in the Junior Common Room and some at outside venues; all of our social events are open to all and we hope you will be able to join us at some if not all of them throughout the year.
Fundraising
We also raise funds for school projects, over the past few years we have bought Apple Macs for the art department and a set of encyclopaedias for the learning resource centre and we are currently raising funds for equipment in the CDT department.
We are always pleased to welcome new friends, either at meeting or at the social events or by supporting our fundraising activities.
